The first electric car was also invented around the same time the first car was in 1837. Ányos István Jedlik invented the first prototype electric motor, consisting of a small electrical circuit. The successful invention of rechargeable acid batteries in the mid 1800’s led to the electric vehicles being more practical for daily use.
